Between September 27th 2023 and January 8th 2024, the MARe / Museum of Recent Art in Bucharest and UniCredit Bank are presenting 46 original Picasso artworks that define an era of artistic brilliance and 65 artworks signed by contemporary Romanian artists influenced by the work of the most important figure in modern art.
„The Picasso Effect ” is one of the most impressive exhibitions in Eastern Europe and certainly the most important in Romania - which is among the 8 countries participating in the Picasso Célébration program: 1973-2023.
The event is organized in partnership with Musée National Picasso-Paris and celebrates 50 years since the disappearance of Pablo Picasso, through a program that includes 42 other museums in the world. Romania is the only country in Central and Eastern Europe included in the extensive project launched by France and Spain.
Among the Romanian artists exhibited together with Pablo Picasso are: Ion Grigorescu, Mircea Cantor, Victor Man, Dumitru Gorzo, Florin Mitroi, Marin Gherasim, Stefan Bertalan, Alexandru Tipoia, Alexandru Radvan, Neculai Paduraru, Alma Redlinger, Pisica Patrata.
