We know how we want the world to be.
Let’s educate our children to build it that way

The UniCredit Foundation initiative, “ Call for Education - Romania & Bulgaria” has concluded.

The 2 winning projects from Romania are:

  • "Growth Mindset Programs for Vulnerable Children and Youth" by the Ana and the Children association, that provides vulnerable children in Bucharest and Ilfov with the tools they need to develop as functional and integrated adults, through interventions in education, support and counseling services for parents and teachers, and the involvement of volunteers;
  • "Profession - toward the vision of my future" by the Hands across Romania association, that provides training opportunities for children from vulnerable communities, linking them directly to economic agents and reducing the dropout rate by providing them with a profession and helping to fill the shortage of skilled workers in the Romanian labor market.

Congratulations to all the winners, but also to the organizations that have accepted our invitation to register in the program and carry out projects that have a positive impact on local communities!

ABOUT THE INITIATIVE

In coherence with its purpose, UniCredit Foundation is actively engaged in projects aimed at combating school dropout, enhancing the employability, and encouraging university attainment across Europe.

Accordingly, UniCredit Foundation launches the initiative "Call for Education - Romania & Bulgaria” to fund educational projects in these two countries.

The call intends to identify and support projects contrasting educational poverty in Bulgaria and Romania in favour of lower and upper secondary school students (11-19 age group), carried out by non-profit organizations with particular focus on:

  • tackling early school leaving;
  • acquisition of skills appropriate to the attainment of university studies;
  • acquisition of adequate skills to enter the job market.

The call will welcome innovative projects both in the areas of intervention and in the operational methodology.

The total funding allocated by UniCredit Foundation for this initiative amounts to € 500,000. This amount will be assigned to maximum 4 projects.
